Gran Turismo 7 will offer two graphics modes on PS5; there will be 4K and 60 FPS mode

Gran Turismo 7 was shown after a year of silence at the PlayStation Showcase on September 9. With nods to the first four installments of the saga, the return in a big way to the campaign mode and new technological options such as variable weather conditions in real time, the Polyphony Digital title is presented in society, crossing out all the requests of the players from the list. In addition, the game will feature two graphic options in its PS5 version, one prioritizing image quality and another prioritizing the FPS rate.

Speaking to MeriStation during an interview held this September, Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of Gran Turismo and president of Polyphony Digital, confirms to this medium that we will have two graphic configurations from launch day. On the one hand, one that prioritize image quality (4K resolution), while the other will give priority to frame rate per second.

With PS5 “the level of expression possible in a video game is taken to the next level”

As they could not specify more during our meeting, since we requested more specific details, We asked Mr. Yamauchi if it will be possible to play Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 in 4K resolution and 60 FPS. The answer was yes, although they did not specify if that resolution will be dynamic; as has already happened in other PlayStation Studios video games, which simulate Ultra HD using reconstruction techniques so that the difference is hardly noticeable.

Therefore, the much demanded 60 FPS will be present in the PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7. We will have to wait until later to know details regarding the PlayStation 4 version.

The Japanese veteran, responsible for all the installments of the saga, explains to MeriStation that PS5 has been the console with which he has worked most comfortably so far: “the level of expression possible in a video game is taken to the next level. Really you can feel that when you are developing a game a new level is set, a new standard”.

Convinced that the game will meet expectations, Gran Turismo 7 will transfer 150 years of motorsport in a single installment. The game is scheduled to premiere worldwide for PS5 and PS4 next March 4, 2022 in physical and digital format.
