Grant Ellis to Headline ‘The Bachelor’ Season 29

“The Bachelor” has a new face to lead the show’s next season. However, it’s someone you may already be familiar with.

On Monday night, ABC announced Grant Ellis, one of the participants from this season of “The Bachelorette,” will be the lead for season 29 of “The Bachelor.” This new season is set to air on the network in 2025.

Ellis becomes the second Black Bachelor to guide the long-running franchise. The first was Matt James.

If you’re not familiar with “The Bachelor,” here’s how it works: Ellis, who is currently single, will be given a list of love interests. Over several episodes, he will eliminate participants one by one. By the finale, he will choose his final candidate and offer her a marriage proposal.

Meanwhile, on “The Bachelorette,” Ellis recently faced disappointment after professing his love for the lead, Jenn Tran. Unfortunately, Tran sent Ellis packing, along with two other contestants, Spencer Conley and Sam McKinney, during the August 12 episode.

After his elimination, Ellis expressed his disappointment. He said he poured his heart out, but it wasn’t good enough for Tran. He admitted it “just sucks” because he had feelings for her, yet she clearly didn’t share the same sentiment.

Despite his setback on “The Bachelorette,” Ellis now has another shot at love, this time as the leading man on “The Bachelor.”
