Environmental activist Greta Thunberg complained on Tuesday for the lack of real action against climate change by world leaders, and defined the promises of politicians to face that emergency as a “bla bla bla”.
“Green economy blah blah blah. Carbon neutral by 2050 blah blah blah. Climate neutral blah blah blah,” Thunberg summed up in his speech at the Youth4Climate event, held in Milan, Italy. “This is all we hear from our so-called leaders. Words. Words that sound great, but so far have not led to any action, “he lamented.

Although, according to the young Swede, there is still the possibility of improving the climate situation, reducing emissions “immediately and drastically”, the lack of action of world leaders and their “blah, blah, blah” throughout 30-year-old has not allowed progress, Thunberg reiterated before what he described as a “betrayal of all present and future generations”.
Thus, almost three decades after the leaders of the Rio Summit (1992, Brazil) committed themselves to addressing environmental problems, the nearly 400 young people from 197 countries who were present in Milan are determined to effectively address climate change at the top of the world agenda and find solutions for that emergency.
The meeting was produced as a preamble to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP26, which will take place in November in Glasgow, Scotland, where experts, ministers and senior political officials from around the world will be called upon to take into account the proposals of Youth4Climate.
