Buenos Aires, Oct 4 (EFE) .- The Argentine president, Alberto Fernández, received this Monday executives of the Dia supermarket chain, who presented him with an investment plan for 115 million dollars for the period 2021 to 2023 in the country South American, which will imply the creation of 3,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to an official statement.
The investment plan, which is already in execution, was announced by Stephan DuCharme, CEO of Grupo Día, and by Martín Tolcachir, CEO of Día Argentina.
The Group’s Global Corporate Director, Santiago Martínez Lage Sobrero, the Vice President of Legal Affairs, Martín Álvarez Espíndola, the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, and the Secretary of Small and Medium Enterprises, Guillermo Merediz also participated in the audience.
Grupo Día plans to open 263 stores throughout the Argentine territory in a period of three years with a disbursement of 75 million dollars, and carry out 370 renovations worth 40 million dollars, according to the Argentine government.
The Group clarified that the store remodeling project will be carried out in seven provinces: Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Santa Fe, Chaco, Jujuy and Salta.
The investment plan also includes a new distribution center that will supply the new stores, the company added.
“Our model is based on Argentine producers of our own brand and also franchisees, who own their stores, and that allows us to have an association with those who can take advantage of the products and logistics of Día to have shops in the neighborhoods,” he explained Tolcachir in the Argentine statement.
The company also joined the “Te Sumo” program that aims to incorporate young people between 18 and 24 years of age through a reduction in employer contributions and economic support for the payment of wages by the Argentine State, the Government statement highlighted. .
In addition, this program includes current financing lines from the Ministry of Productive Development, the use of electronic credit invoices and training tools and technical assistance for the SME supplier chain.
