Grupo Marca Registrada Achieves Top 10 Entry on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart
Grupo Marca Registrada has made a remarkable debut on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart by grabbing the ninth position on the chart dated May 27 with their album “Don’t Stop the Magic”. The quartet is only the second artist or group to debut in the top 10 on their first visit with a regional Mexican album in 2023.
Their album was released by RB/Interscope on May 12, marking the quartet’s first album release after regional Mexican independent label RB Music partnered with Interscope last October. With the top 10 arrival, RB Music makes its first appearance on Top Latin Albums and its first top 10 on the chart at the same time. Meanwhile, Interscope returns to the upper sphere of the chart following the No. 1 debut of Selena Gomez’s Breakthrough EP in March 2021.
The streaming of the album drives most of its debut and opens with 8,000 album-equivalent units earned in the US in the week ending on May 18, according to Luminate. That sum is equivalent to 13.1 million official on-demand streams of the album’s songs.
Magic features a diverse range of Regional Mexican artists, including collaborations with Grupo Frontera “Di que sí”. The album gave Registrada their first top 10 on Latin Airplay, currently in its second week at No. 3, their best ranking ever. With the album’s theme, the group secured their first No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated April 29, leading for three consecutive weeks.
In addition, the quartet also lands at No. 4 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart, earning a first top 10 hit on their first visit to that chart. The album is a perfect blend of traditional regional Mexican music and modern genre, which has helped them to reach a wide range of audiences.
Furthermore, Registrada’s achievements do not stop here; the group has also made its Billboard 200 debut with Magic on No. 187. It is evident that the group’s hard work and talent have paid off, and they are set to reach new heights in the music industry in the future.
