Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition is out now for Rockstar Games. The long-awaited improved compilation will arrive next November 11 in digital format to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. After a short but revealing trailer, which you can see at the top of this news, some users have already started to compare how the new version looks against the original.
- GTA the Trilogy shows its first trailer with gameplay and presents all its improvements
- GTA San Andreas The Definitive Edition llegará a Xbox Game Pass; GTA 3, a PS Now
How has GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas improved compared to the originals?
The popular content creator Cycu1 has not missed the occasion. On his YouTube channel we find an initial comparison with the material we currently have. Those 58 seconds trailer and the first images they go a long way. We can see all the graphic novelties of The Definitive Edition: high resolution textures, lighting, modeling, scenery … it goes beyond a simple remastering.
In the outdoor photographs we can see how the horizon appears without the fog that characterized the release versions. Its appearance was a technique to camouflage the short rendering distance. In the player’s eyes, you didn’t see the stage appear abruptly. Vice City takes a lot of color; at times the characters have a more cartoon style.
The message conveyed by the study in its presentation is palpable. Rockstar wanted to keep “The original sensations” while adding numerous graphical and playable improvements. What the comparisons do not show is the new control scheme, which will take the modern structure of Grand Theft Auto V. The aiming and gunplay will be significantly improved.
Grove Street Games has been the studio in charge of the bulk of the work. Remember that the physical copies of the trilogy will be marketed a few weeks after its digital launch, specifically on the day December 7th.
