Haley Joel Osment’s sixth sense seems to be hinting that Kendrick Lamar’s decision to mix up his name with Joel Osteen’s on the track “Euphoria” was entirely deliberate.

Following the resolution of one of the biggest Hip-Hop feuds of the past decade, fans have diligently analyzed the lyrics exchanged between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. A significant point of contention has been a particular namedrop on Kendrick’s “Euphoria,” where it’s unclear whether Lamar was referring to the Texas megachurch pastor or the well-known actor.

“N****a feelin’ like Joel Osteen/Funny, he was in a film called A.I. /And my sixth sense tellin’ me to off him,” Kendrick rapped on “Euphoria.”

According to The Associated Press, Haley Joel Osment was recently spotted at the premiere of Zoë Kravitz’s “Blink Twice.” The actor, known for his roles in “The Sixth Sense” (1999) and “A.I.” (2001), was eager to clarify his perspective on the name-drop amid the Kendrick-Drake beef.

“I was shooting in Ireland when all that happened and I got like a hundred texts in the middle of the night,” said Osment, recalling the moment when Kendrick’s track caused a stir. His famous line from the M. Night Shyamalan film, “I see dead people,” had also been quoted in Kendrick’s “Not Like Us.” “I was like, what is going on?!”

Osment expressed to the AP his belief that Kendrick Lamar’s lyric choices are deliberate and thoughtful, suggesting that the mix-up with Joel Osteen’s name was likely intentional.

“I think he’s too precise,” Osment noted. “I don’t know for sure and I’m not gonna assume that he knows my exact name, but the way I’ve heard people talk about that and certain analysis that I’ve read about it, I think that it’s an intentional scrambling of my name and that other guy’s name. Because Kendrick’s too precise to just make a mistake like that, I think.”

In the end, we might never fully understand the true intent behind Kendrick’s lyrics, and it seems unlikely he will clarify it in any new interviews. As it stands, some elements of the Kendrick and Drake feud may remain known only to the two artists themselves.
