At the age of 13, Christensen began his television career in Canada. Later, in the late 1990s, he switched to American television. Hayden Christense Early Life
Christensen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Canadian computer programmer and communications professional David Christensen and American wordsmith Alie Christensen. His mother is of Swedish and Italian origin, while his father is of Danish descent. Christensen is one of four kids; his older brother Tove, older sister Hejsa, and Kaylen all work as actors. He spent his summers on Long Island with his maternal grandmother Rose Schwartz.
Christensen attended Markham, Ontario’s Unionville High School. He participated in competitive hockey and local tennis in high school. He studied at the Arts York theatre programme in high school and the Royal Academy in New York City.
He also started getting roles in commercials after going with his elder sister to her agent’s office when she got a job in a Pringles ad, including one for Triaminic cough medication in 1988.
Hayden Christense Career
At 12, Christensen began his professional career in September 1993 when he appeared in a recurring role on the German-Canadian television programme Family Passions. The following year, he played a tiny part in John Carpenter’s In the Eye of Madness. He appeared in several movies and TV shows between 1995 and 1999, such as Harrison Bergeron, Eternal Knight, Nightmare, The Virgin Suicides attempts, and Are You Scared by the Dark?
He participated in the sixth annual “24 Hour Plays” fundraiser in 2005, raising money for New York City charity organisations.
Instead of having a separate actor wear one of the first sets of Vader gear used by David Prowse, Christensen asked Lucas if an artist could make a bespoke Vader suit to match his own body while filming Revenge of the Sith. As a result of Lucas’ approval, a costume was created to fit Christensen’s physique and even included extensions to enable the actor to grow to the height of Vader, who stands 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 metres).
Nevertheless, James Earl Jones, who initially made the voice famous in the prequel series, provided a dub over of his voice to play the “robotic” Vader.
Christensen comes under Teen People’s 25 Sexiest Stars Under 25 and People’s Journal’s 50 Most Gorgeous Persons. He was also awarded the MTV Video Music Award for Outstanding Villain for his role in Episode III.
Christensen sued USA Networks in 2010 because they had appropriated his concept for the television series Royal Pains. According to the lawsuit, Christensen met with USA to offer an identical show called Housecalls. Christensen claims that he was unaware that a similar scheme was available at the conference.
Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in May 2022 for the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries on Disney +. Critics gave his portrayal favourable reviews, praising how much better it was than his work in the prequels.
Hayden Christense Personal Life
Christensen started to date actress Rachel Bilson, with whom he co-starred in the 2007 film Jumper, in the same year. December 25, 2008, was the day they got engaged. They split up in the middle of 2010, but a few months later started dating once more. Bilson gave their baby girl away on October 29, 2014. In September 2017, Christensen and Bilson parted ways.
Christensen purchased a property close to Uxbridge, Ontario, in 2007. He wrote in 2008 that he had been repairing the farm personally and devoted time to learning about “cattle, crops, and agricultural technology”.
