The Netflix streaming service has great phenomena within its immense content catalog and one of them is Sex Education, the series that talks about teenage sexuality. This year its third season arrived, waiting for the fourth and fifth part already confirmed, but for that we will have to wait a while. That is why so as not to miss this fiction that is all the rage, we bring you another program that you cannot miss.
We are talking about The Sex Lives of College Girls, the most recent launch of the platform HBO Max. This program that covers genres such as comedy and teen drama made its presentation last Thursday, November 18 with its first two episodes called “Welcome to Essex” and “Naked Party”. Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble they are the minds behind this fiction that is already making people talk about it.
What is it about? It follows four women who come together as college roommates when they arrive for their freshman year at New England’s prestigious Essex College. From the first moment it will be seen that they have completely different origins, but that will not prevent them from joining a new path of contradictions and hormones within the campus, in classes and each with their relationships, while dealing with everyday problems.
The main cast is made up of Pauline Chalamet as Kimberly, a student from Arizona who is from a predominantly white city; Amrit Kaur as Bela, a young Indian-American from New Jersey who wants to be a writer; Reneé Rapp It’s Leighton, a wealthy inherited student from New York; and Alyah Chanelle Scott in the role of Whitney, a football star from Seattle. The rest of the cast is completed with Gavin Leatherwood, Chris Meyer, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Renika Williams, Lolo Spencer and Midori Francis.
The reception from the critics has been more than positive: Rotten Tomates reported 95% approval with an average score of 7.5 / 10 and on Metacritic it received a score of 71/100 with favorable reviews. The Sex Lives of College Girls addresses the sexual freedom of adolescents from a similar side to that of Sex Education, so we are in front of a new content that to continue as up to now could to the Netflix show.
