Héctor Parra Sentenced to 10 Years and 6 Months for Corruption of Minors
Mexican actor Héctor Parra has been sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison for corruption of minors. The decision was made after his daughter, Alexa Hoffman, reported him to the authorities for sexual abuse. Héctor was arrested outside his home on July 15, 2021 and has remained in preventive prison since then.
Héctor Parra Acquitted of Seven Charges of Abuse
Although Héctor was acquitted of seven charges of abuse, he was sentenced for the crime of corruption of minors. The artist achieved fame in the 90s and has been in detention for almost two years now.
Decision Made After a Five-Hour Hearing
The decision was made after a hearing that lasted almost 5 hours at the Reclusorio Oriente in Mexico City. Olivia Rubio Rodríguez, the lawyer for the accusing party, sent a statement confirming the actor’s sentence.
Daughter Marches in Favor of Her Father
A day before the decision was made, Daniela Parra, the actor’s eldest daughter, held a march in favor of her father. She asked for freedom not only for him but for all those who are unfairly serving a sentence because of failed expert reports and false denunciations.
Health Problem Delayed the Hearing
Héctor was supposed to learn of the verdict on May 18, 2021, but a health problem prevented the hearing from taking place. It was only on May 25, 2021, that the authorities’ resolution was known.
Alexa’s Documentary
Alexa, Héctor’s daughter, does not retract the accusations she made against her father. She is even preparing to launch a documentary where she will tell her version of the events. She claims that she no longer recognizes Héctor as her father.
