Hideo Kojima is one of the most prominent developers in the video game industry. It is responsible from the mythical Metal Gear Solid titles to the mysterious Death Stranding. What’s more, Kojima is famous for sharing the works he consumes, be it music, cinema, series, video games … and recently shared his opinion about 12 minutes. Apparently he’s completely hooked.

Before commenting on Hideo Kojima’s reaction, you should know that 12 Minutes is a mystery video game that takes us into a time loop starring Willem Dafoe, James McAvoy, and Daisy Ridley.

Well, 12 Minutes has managed to hook Kojima so much that he has indicated that “he was not so immersed in a game since INSIDE”. His exact words have been the following:

Once you get used to the overhead view and controls, you won’t mind. It is a game that uses intelligence. It’s like the Amiga games I used to play“wrote Kojima.”I’m not over it yet, but it’s fun. I’m afraid of Dafoe’s visit“.

Kojima also says that, “Even now, I feel like Dafoe is going to walk through the front door in about ten minutes … Normally I would welcome him as I’m a huge fan of his, but after playing 12 Minutes I’m afraid that he will give me a punch. Although it is a good casting“.

The best of the matter came when he said that 12 Minutes is inspiring you and you want to create another adventure game. For those of you who may not know, Kojima worked on various graphic adventures during his time at Konami, such as Policenauts and Snatcher. In fact, 12 Minutes creator Luis Antonio has stated that he has some ideas that he would like to propose to Kojima.

Finally, Kojima commented on some details that he liked about 12 Minutes: “The carpet pattern in the hallway is totally ‘The Shining’. And the outlook of the closet is good too. Dafoe’s high-pitched voice is very similar to ‘The Lighthouse’. “

It may very well be a while (or not) until we see Hideo Kojima’s next creation. Meanwhile, we remind you that Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PS5 will be released on September 24, 2021.
