Sherry’s murder was witnessed by her best friend, Krista, a former drug addict herself. The plot then grows and follows the usual investigation and crime thriller angle. Throughout the shocking discoveries, Jackie evolves into becoming more sober. Together with agent Ray Abruzzo of the Interagency Narcotics Unit, the duo discovers that solving the murder mystery surrounding drugs is a complicated task.

In the subsequent season, Jackie fulfills her dream of becoming a real cop. She is immediately drawn in the crime wave of the deadly Carfentanly sweeping the Cape. Her hunt to take down the drug dealer Frankie Cuevas begins. He is the same man Jackie blames for the death of her best friend, Junior.
The season ends with Frankie being arrested for the murders of the informant, the pilot, and Jorge. However, this was not it. It is discovered that Renee killed Jorge.
