In 2018, VapeThisBro (a deleted account at this moment) announced the leak of an unnamed Harry Potter RPG game through a private Youtube video.
Sony later confirmed this news by releasing their Youtube video of Hogwarts Legacy. The video is available on the PlayStation Youtube Official Channel.
But, after the video and some initial news and updates, Sony has become silent. There is also no news on the exact release date of the game.

Hogwarts Legacy Release date
Earlier, sources said that the game would be released in 2021. The official Twitter account of Hogwarts Legacy posted on 13th January 2021 that the game will be released in 2022.
Earlier, the famous podcast “Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast” from Studio71 confirmed that it will be released in 2023. Its host Colin Moriarty stated that “hearing behind the scenes that(the) game isn’t coming out this year”. He also added, “It’s in some sort of trouble“.
But, Metro UK updated interesting news on 20th January. It claims Hogwarts Legacy will get its official release in 2022. Metro also speculated that this game might be a prime feature in February’s Next State of Play Event.
But, Sony or Warner Brothers is yet to make any official announcement. The official website of Hogwarts Legacy states that the game will be released in 2022.

The official Youtube video did not offer enough information about the characters inside the game. But, since it is situated inside Hogwarts and features some of the iconic locations, it may also come with some familiar faces.
The game possibly features iconic characters like Professor Dumbledore, Hagrid, Albert Dambeldore, and others. Some new characters may also enter the gameplay. Besides the characters, common mythical creatures like the trolls, the dragons, etc., will also feature in the fame.
Character design inside the game
In the case of character design, this game tries to take a better approach. The visuals are better than previous games and look more realistic. Additionally, characters will also come with customization. As per the first look video, the player will be able to sport the traditional Hogwarts uniform. Their attaire will come with a robe, house emblem tie, pant/skirt and other attires. Interesting enough, the video features a waistcoat complete with the official house emblem also.
In the case of character design, players will get a chance to customize their looks. Hence, they will choose their hair colour, facial features, height, voice, name and gender inside the game.
