Hunters Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More Details

hunters season 2

Hunters’ first season split viewers and critics, which is unsurprising considering the Amazon series’ focus on actual and imagined Holocaust crimes and meetings with Nazis.

At an Amazon TCA event, executive producer and co-showrunner Nikki Toscano remarked, “We’re not trying to humanize Nazis” (via IndieWire). “Some Nazis go to extremes, while others have diverse justifications for their actions… These arguments don’t convince our hunters. We’re not attempting to humanize them, but we do recognize that they exist on a continuum.”

There have also been allegations that the Al Pacino-starring program glorifies violence, which has led to similarities to Quentin Tarantino’s work. David Weil, the show’s creator, told Inverse, “He’s a maestro, and I adore his art.” “I guess the difficult part is that I never intended for this program to be Quentin Tarantino or Tarantino-lite.” On the other hand, Hunters has been extended for a second season, despite the critiques above.

“I am beyond thankful to (Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios) and the Amazon family for their tremendous ongoing support of Hunters,” creator David Weil remarked on the excellent news.

I’m more excited than ever to share the next part of the Hunters narrative with the world, with our fantastic cast, crew, and creative writers and producers.”

“David Weil’s strong vision and daring creativity fueled an exciting, twisting, action-packed first season that enthralled Prime Video viewers across the globe,” Salke said.

We’re ecstatic that David, Jordan (Peele), and the Hunters will be joining us again.” Weil has already plotted out five seasons, so there will be plenty of stuff to work with in the future. Everything you need to know is right here.

When will Hunters Season 2 premiere on Amazon Prime Video?

Because there will probably be more, we’ll issue a full Spoiler Warning for Hunters season 1 right now. Just so you know, whether you’re now watching the first season or intend to watch it later, the finale shocks are incredible and should not be spoiled. Pay attention. Whether you’re one of the exploded-head fans who’s already seen the twists, you’re anxious to learn when and if season 2 of Hunters will be published so you can see where this crazy narrative is headed.

Amazon Studios’ executive producers threw viewers for a loop by postponing the announcement of Hunters’ second season for many months, but they have finally done so. Knowing that we’ll almost surely see how deep down this Nazi-infested rabbit hole we’ll fall, the natural question is when we’ll witness more horrific Hunters mayhem.

Unfortunately, Amazon has yet to announce a date for the second season of Hunters, so the “when” remains a mystery for the time being. And, with film and television productions throughout the globe hindered at best for the foreseeable future, there’s no way of knowing when Season 2 of Hunters will be able to hit the big screen.

With that in mind, we anticipate the release of Hunters season 2 on Amazon Prime Video in late 2021. We wouldn’t be surprised if it were postponed till 2022.

Who will be a part of Hunters season 2’s cast?

While the debut date for the second season of Hunters is likely to remain a mystery, for the time being, we should at least have a clear notion of which characters will and will not return in season 2. With that in mind, let’s start with who won’t be back in the saddle for the upcoming season. Unfortunately, the most fabulous celebrity from Season 1 of Hunters will not be returning for Season 2.

Al Pacino is, of course, the name. Except for 2003’s HBO endeavor Angels in America, which is technically a “mini-series event,” the acting icon has never participated in a small-screen series of any kind before Hunters.

Pacino played squad commander Meyer Offerman in every episode of Hunters’ first season. Still, it was revealed in the end that he was a prominent evil Nazi and one of the primary targets of the killing crew he was heading.

That disclosure led to his execution at the hands of Jonah, one of his proteges (Logan Lerman). With Pacino out of the picture, fans can rest confident that most of the Hunters cast (except for Saul Rubinek’s Murray, who died in a very honorable manner in season 1) will return for season 2.

Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Carol Kane, Louis Ozawa, Tiffany Boone, and Kate Mulvaney are others on the list. Greg Austin, Dylan Baker, and Lena Olin are expected to return as members of Hunters’ evil Fourth Reichers in the forthcoming season.

Given the shocking discovery in Hunters’ season 1 finale, they’ll be joined by an unnamed actor who will play Adolf Hitler, the essence of evil himself. And, indeed, it will be fascinating to watch who fills that job.

What is the plot of the second season of Hunters?

One of the show’s greatest surprises came towards the conclusion of Hunters when it was revealed that the Colonel (Lena Olin) was alive, and so were Hitler and his accomplice Eva Braun. This suggests that the Hunters would most likely attempt to assassinate Nazi leader Adolf Hitler in Season 2. And with the loss of Al Pacino as the show’s main star, the show’s portrayal of Hitler might be an actual name.

In an interview with Refinery29, co-showrunner Nikki Toscano said that Hitler and his merry band of Nazi clones will play a significant role in Season 2. She joked, “We should be concerned about the whole Nazi community, in my opinion. If there’s one thing we can predict, it’s that. In principle, it’s a nod to Hitler’s youth.” Hunters Season 2 will be available on Amazon Prime Video shortly.
