International Airlines Group, the group to which Iberia, British Airways, and Vueling belong, among others, recorded a profit between January and September of 199 million euros, compared to losses of 2,622 million in the same period last year, and accumulates two quarters with profits.
As reported by the group – to which Aer Lingus and Level also belong – to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the improvement in results is the result of the increase in passenger revenues, from 3,140 million a year ago to 14,020 million until last September.
In the third quarter, the airline group recorded a profit of 853 million euros (losses of 574 million in that period of 2021) which adds up to two consecutive quarters in the black, as a result of the improvement in traffic after the pandemic.
