IMF and Argentina have an understanding, but much work remains: Georgieva

NEW YORK, Dec 3 (Reuters) – The International Monetary Fund and Argentina have a common understanding to work together to improve the South American country’s economic fundamentals, but much remains to be done, Fund Director Kristalina Georgieva said on Friday.

The IMF chief stressed “the importance of working towards a program that significantly improves Argentina’s macroeconomic fundamentals and puts Argentina on a solid path to recover from this (economic) crisis.”

“We have worked constructively so far, but there is still a lot to do,” Georgieva said during the Reuters Next conference.
