Three Dutch online shops have added desktop processors from Intel’s upcoming Alder Lake-S series to their product range. The prices fluctuate, but are above the recommendations for the predecessors from the 11000 series (Rocket Lake-S). The top model Core i9-12900K costs between 655 and 745 euros, depending on the shop, the F version with deactivated graphics unit 30 euros less. All prices include a 21 percent VAT.
The Core i9-11900K, on the other hand, has a list price of around 545 euros, in German stores it is available from 520 euros. The 12000 generation shop listings have the Dutch website Tweakers discovered. at Max ICT, the processors can still be found, with BeatIT and the hardware branch of Petdirect no longer.

Price increase is conceivable
Even if these are pre-listings that do not have to reflect Intel’s final price recommendations, higher costs than the predecessors appear possible. With the additional CPU cores alone, Intel can position Alder Lake-S closer to AMD’s Ryzen models. The Core i9-12900K combines around eight performance (Golden Cove) and eight efficiency cores (Gracemont), the Ryzen 9 5950X has 16 uniform, fast Zen 3 cores and costs at least 700 euros. Rocket Lake-S (Core i-11000K) is available with a maximum of eight calculators.
Added to this are the costs for the more modern production with structures of 10 nanometers, which Intel is bringing to the desktop market for the first time after years of manufacturing problems and the resulting seven 14 nm generations.
Based on the Website WCCFTech rumors circulatethat Intel will announce the first Alder Lake S processors on October 27, 2021. The market launch, on the other hand, is not due to take place until three weeks later on November 19, together with the new Z690 mainboards including the LGA1700 socket.
[Update, 07.09.21, 19:40 Uhr:] Wording changed occasionally to make it clearer that these are pre-listing, the prices of which may differ from the actual Intel recommendations.
