Inter Milan qualified for the Champions League round of 16 after Edin Dzeko’s brace gave them a 4-0 home win against Viktoria Plzen in Group C on Wednesday , a result that eliminated Barcelona and left it relegated to the Europa League.

The Italian side have 10 points, six more than Barca, who host Bayern Munich later on Wednesday. Even if Barca beat the Germans and win their last game of the phase against Viktoria Plzen, Inter will qualify with a better head-to-head record against the Catalans.

Inter got off to a lively start, but Plzen goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek excelled with a double save on 25 minutes, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan put the hosts ahead 10 minutes later.

Dzeko scored the second in the 42nd minute after an excellent cross from Federico Dimarco and increased the score in the 66th minute by finishing off a pass from Lautaro Martínez inside the box.

Romelu Lukaku scored in his long-awaited return from injury and completed the win after beating Stanek after a perfect pass from Joaquín Correa.
