If you are one of the loyal Apple lovers and yesterday was one of those marked on your calendar in red, then you may already be thinking of renewing your iPhone to get one of the new models. As expected, the great news comes with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max designed for the most demanding. If you are one of them and you are thinking of buying the new iPhone 13 Pro, these are the advantages that we can find over its predecessor, the iPhone 12 Pro.
What’s new in the iPhone 13 Pro compared to the iPhone 12 Pro
Design and display
As far as design is concerned, there is little to say, since the new model has a design practically identical to that of the iPhone 12. It should be noted that it is slightly thicker and heavier, although it is something that we will not be able to detect with the naked eye or having both devices in hand since the difference is minimal and that it arrives with a notch something smaller.
The screen with which the iPohne 13 Pro arrives is also 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR type with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels, but this time it arrives accompanied by the ProMotion technology offering an adaptive refresh rate of patient 120 Hz. This is undoubtedly one of the great novelties that were expected and that differentiates it from the iPhone 12 Pro.
The fact that it is adaptive allows you to switch between 10 and 120 Hz automatically to adjust this rate based on the content displayed on the screen. This allows us to always ensure the best performance depending on what we are doing on the mobile and save battery while we don’t need such a high refresh rate.
Processor and storage capacity
Something that was already known for sure is that the new iPhone 13 family would arrive driven by the new chip A15 Bionic. A processor with which the iPhone 13 Pro is equipped and that is the successor to the A14 Bionic that the iPhone 12 has. A chip that promises almost 50% more performance than the previous model and that for this, has two additional performance cores and 4 efficiency cores.
These new cores of performance and efficiency make the iPhone 13 Pro capable of perform the most complex tasks seamlessly without compromising battery life. An ultra-fast Neural Engine processor that performs 15.8 trillion operations per second and allows you to use Cinema mode or Smart HDR in the most efficient way.
When it comes to the amount of space available for internal storage, the iPhone 13 Pro comes with a new configuration not available on the iPhone 12. We mean that Apple offers up to 1 TB capacity for this model and maintains the already known options of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB that we also find in the iPhone 12 Pro.
Along with the ProMotion of the screen and the new processor, the rest of the differences between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro come in the photographic section. To begin with, the company indicated yesterday during the presentation that the new iPhone 13 Pro and its older brother the Pro Max arrived with the more powerful photographic system till the date. On the back we can see a triple camera like the one on the iPhone 12 Pro, but that really comes with great improvements.
A camera that has larger sensors that promise to capture much more light to offer great results when we take photos at night or in low-light environments and that also opens the macro mode to offer a huge level of detail. To do this, it has a redesigned lens and a powerful autofocus system in the new ultra-wide angle that is capable of focusing at a distance of just 2 cm.
The large size of the sensors and a major opening, make the night mode come much improved and allow us to take photos or take portraits even at night or places with very little light with an incredible result. So much so, that the wide angle allows up to 2.2 times more light to pass through both when taking photos and videos. For its part, the ultra wide angle lets through 92% more light and the night mode reaches all cameras, including the telephoto lens.
a new telephoto It has a 77mm focal length and 3x optical zoom for high definition portraits, photos and videos even when shot from further afield. Another novelty is the modo Cinematic, which allows you to record in depth and automatically add transitions between objects.
As if that were not enough, the new iPhone 13 Pro is the first smartphone that allows you to follow a professional process from start to finish by allowing you to record and edit in ProRes and Dolby Vision something that the new Pro Max also has.
While in the iPhone 12 Pro the HDR 3 was able to balance the elements of each photo and highlight the details, the new iPhone 13 Pro is able to adjust different settings to several people individually within the same scene thanks to machine learning Neural Engine and HDR inteligente 4.
Although Apple has not given the data of the battery capacity of the iPhone 13 Pro, the combination between a battery that is probably larger, together with the efficiency of the A15 Bionic chip and the new settings of the iOS 15 operating system, make the iPhone 13 offer up to 1.5 hours more than its predecessor the iPhone 12 Pro.
On this occasion, we have that the new iPhone is available with four different internal storage capacities. The version with 128 GB is priced at 1159 euros, the 256 GB goes up to 1279 euros, while the iPhone 13 Pro with 512 GB capacity has an official price of 1509 euros. Finally, the new version with 1 TB of space is priced at 1739 euros.
With the arrival of the new models, Apple seems to have discontinued the iPhone 12 Pro, so it is to be expected that from today its price will go down and we can find it with an interesting saving if we compare it with the official price at which the last year around the same time.
