Iraq Says Crude Price Above $ 80 “A Positive Indicator”: Spokesperson

Oct 17 (Reuters) – A spokesman for the Iraqi Oil Ministry said an oil price above $ 80 is “a positive indicator” but needs long-term stability.

The Oil Ministry quoted Asim Jihad on its Telegram channel as saying that Iraq aims to achieve the highest financial income by committing to the OPEC + deal.

He added that the challenges of the world oil market are still present because the coronavirus and its variants have not been fully contained.

Earlier this month, OPEC + stuck to its agreement to increase production by 400,000 bpd a month as it lifts cuts to pumping.
