Las Vegas earned the title ‘The Entertainment Capital of the World’ because of the huge variety of entertainment options in the city. Las Vegas has grown considerably from the early years when it was first incorporated as a city. In 1931, Nevada legalized casino gaming and the city soon became known for gambling. A lot has changed since the 1930s but is Las Vegas still regarded as the entertainment capital of the world?

Casinos

We now have a huge variety of online casinos to enjoy, with Casumo online casino being a notable example. Online casinos are a threat to land based casinos, such as those in Las Vegas, due to the quality and realism of the casino games. However, at the time of writing, Las Vegas is home to over 60 different casinos and you can make a case for there being over 100 casinos in the city depending on your criteria. That means Las Vegas has more casinos than any other city in the world and is continuing to thrive when it comes to gambling.

Shows

While many people choose to visit Las Vegas for the casinos, there are those who stay in the city to watch the fantastic shows. If we look specifically at the first five months of 2023, there are some huge names performing in Las Vegas. Some of the stars set to perform in Las Vegas includes Kool & The Gang, David Copperfield, Katy Perry, David Blaine, Maroon 5, Sting, Jerry Seinfeld, Rod Stewart, and Santana. Over the years, Las Vegas has been home to some of the biggest names in stage performance, including Elvis, Siegfried and Roy, The Rat Pack, Celine Dion, Liberace, and Sammy Davis Jr. In terms of live shows, Las Vegas is tough to beat and with acts including Cirque du Soleil continuing to perform regularly in the city, there is no doubting the quality of entertainment in Las Vegas.

Theme Parks

In addition to the casinos and shows, there are a variety of theme parks to visit in Las Vegas. The Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a good example and this was the world’s first indoor trampoline park. Inside the park, there are several large trampolines with options including freestyle bouncing and tailored fitness routines. For those who want to take the thrills to the next level, the Big Apple Coaster is a tremendous choice. The rollercoaster is located at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino and following the theme of the hotel, the Big Apple Coaster is based on the famous yellow taxi cabs found in New York City. The rollercoaster even passes through a replica of the Statue of Liberty. The Magical Forest, Area 15, and the Fun Dungeon are three additional themed areas in Las Vegas designed for both adults and children.

With so much to see and do, Las Vegas is still the entertainment capital of the world. Packed full of casinos, live shows, theme parks, restaurants, bars, and hotels, the options are endless.
