Malware and hacker attacks are no longer just a Windows issue – Linux servers are also coming under increasing attack. The iX workshop Harden Linux servers covers all aspects of Linux server security over four days. The spectrum of topics ranges from physical security and access control mechanisms to intrusion detection.

In a practice environment, you will learn how to encrypt data and secure network services, set up advanced methods of access control such as two-factor authentication and use Linux security mechanisms such as SELinux and AppArmor. The analysis of log files for security-relevant incidents and the use of intrusion detection are also on the program. You will also receive an introduction to penetration testing for the targeted detection of security gaps.

The iX workshop will take place from September 14th to 17th as an online course via video conference in a remote classroom at B1 Systems. You will be given ssh access to the exercise systems for practicing. During the course there is always the opportunity to ask the speaker questions and to exchange ideas. To ensure effective learning, the workshop is limited to 15 participants. If you book by August 17 there is a 10% early bird discount.
