Japan’s indices close higher; the Nikkei 225 advances 0.78%

The Japan Stock Exchange closed higher on Tuesday; Sector gains mining, Transportand Precision instruments pushed indexes higher.

At the close of Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 It rose 0.78%.

The best value of the session in the Nikkei 225 was TOTO Ltd. (TYO:5332), up 8.64%, 395.00 points, to 4.00 at the close. It is followed by Daikin Industries, Ltd. (TYO:6367), which advanced 5.33%, 1.00 points, to close at 21.00, and Eisai Co., Ltd. (TYO:4523), which rose 4.84%, 394.00 points, to dismiss the session at 8.00.

At the bottom of the index ended Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TYO:9501), which fell by 4.18%, or 19.00 points, to close at 436.00. Dai-ichi Life Holdings Inc (TYO:8750), meanwhile, cut 3.04%, 90.00 points, and closed at 2.00, while Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (TYO:6098) fell 3.02%, 131.00 points, to 4.00.

The green numbers prevailed over the reds on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by a difference of 2146 versus 1403, and 278 closed flat.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the volatility of Nikkei 225 options, fell 3.80% to 18.21.

Crude oil futures for February delivery fell 0.44%, 0.33%, to $74.30 a barrel. As for the other commodities, Brent oil futures for delivery in March fell 0.49%, 0.39, to stay at $ 79.26 a barrel, while gold futures for delivery in February fell 0.09%, 1.70, to $ 1.00 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY rose 0.19% to 132.13, while EUR/JPY advanced 0.20% to 141.76.

The dollar index rose 0.29% to 103.04.
