Jeff Bezos, the founder and former CEO of Amazon, has finally proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez, after five years of dating. He reportedly asked her to marry him while on his luxurious $500 million yacht, Koru, during a trip to Europe. Sánchez accepted, excited to become the third wife of the world’s third richest man.
Paparazzi pictures showed the couple enjoying the Mediterranean views while on board the yacht. Lauren tried to hide her ring initially but eventually revealed it at an exclusive dinner at La Petite Maison. The engagement ring is reportedly made with a 20-carat gemstone in the center and cost around $2.5 million.
The couple has been reportedly in love with each other since they began dating secretly as they both were still married to others. However, Jeff had to make their relationship public after someone allegedly threatened to release intimate pictures of him and Lauren.
Jeff recently announced his divorce from MacKenzie Scott, with whom he shares three children. Despite the divorce, they remain co-parents and co-owners of their business. Unfortunately, Lauren wasn’t a part of their future plans, so Bezos had to reveal their relationship to the public.
According to a source, the newly engaged couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other at a Vanity Fair party held before their European trip, where they announced the news of their engagement to their friends and guests. The couple is excited to get married and start their new life together.
