Only two days after the pleas in his court case against Amber Heard (36), Johnny Depp (58) surprises with a guest appearance in England. At a concert by Jeff Beck (77) on Sunday, the actor and hobby guitarist came on stage for some songs. Several concertgoers recorded the performance in Sheffield in videos and social media posts, as reported by the “Hollywood Reporter”.
Johnny Depp supported the British rock legend Jeff Beck (The Yardbirds) on three songs. Together they sang and played their version of John Lennon’s “Isolation”. Beck and Depp released the song as a single in 2020. The two also tried their hand at Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” and Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.”.
Johnny Depp as a rock star
Johnny Depp has been an avid musician for years. Prior to his career as an actor, he aspired to a career as a rock star. He also put this on record in the trial of ex-wife Amber Heard. Only when it didn’t work out as a musician did he slip into the film business by chance.
Parallel to his cinema career, Depp played as a guest musician for various artists. In 2015 he founded the band Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper (74) and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry (71).
On Friday, with the lawyers’ pleas, the taking of evidence in the Depp vs. Heard case came to an end. Both accuse each other of defamation. When the jury will present their verdict has not yet been determined.
