During the afternoon of this Sunday, it was reported the death of Jordan Cashmyer, one of the protagonists of the program reality of MTV 16 and Pregnant, at the age of 26. So far, no reason for his death has been given.

The news was confirmed by the young woman’s stepmother, Jessica Cashmyer, through a Facebook post written from the account of Dennis M. Cashmyer Jr., Jordan’s late father.

“Last night I got a call that no parent would want to have. My beloved eldest daughter, Jordan, passed away,” he wrote.

“I was only 26 years old. Our hearts are really broken. No parent should ever have to deal with the death of a child,” he added.

“Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this terrible tragedy,” the mother wrote, calling for her privacy to be respected.

MTV honored the memory in an Instagram post that reads: “We are deeply saddened to hear about the death of Jordan Cashmyer. Our thoughts are with the family members and close friends of Jordan Cashmyer at this time of sorrow.”

In the course of appearing in the show, 16 as well as Pregnant, Jordan struggled to find work. She was also homeless when she was a teen pregnant after her family disowned her for it because they didn’t approve of their relationship with Taylor.

Jordan’s battles continued long after giving birth to daughter Evie and later transferred custody rights on a short-term arrangement to the mother of Taylor in the year 2015. Variety reported.
