Thirty-two years after the success of Pretty WomanJulia Roberts signs her comeback in romantic comedies. She is starring in Ticket to Paradise, alongside her friend and acting partner George Clooney.

It is thanks to this cinematographic genre that she became known in the 90s. So why did you wait so long before going back?

In an interview with the New York Times on April 15, the 52-year-old actress returned to the reasons for this hiatus. “People mistakenly think it’s a deliberate choice,” she said. But if I had read a script at the height of Notting Hill or My Best Friend’s Wedding, I would have done it. It didn’t happen. »

In a relationship with cinematographer Daniel Moder, with whom she had three children, Julia Roberts also chose to focus on her family: “Over the past few years, I have had to manage my schedule differently, between my husband’s schedules and those of my children. I am proud to have stayed at home and taken care of my family,” she concludes.

In Ticket to Paradise, which is scheduled for theatrical release in September 2022, she plays a divorced woman, forced to team up with her former husband (George Clooney) to join their daughter in Bali. A trip that should revive old memories.
