It sounds like a daily scene of a futuristic house: You have to clean the dust and use your technologically advanced vacuum cleaner, which uses a laser detection system to hunt down every last micron of dust, also supported by an LCD screen that shows you the results . But it is not a thing of the future, but of the present, because this is the new vacuum cleaner of the Dyson brand.

Dyson V15 Detect

The new generation of Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners including the Dyson V15 Detect, has been designed to make hidden dust visible down to 10 microns in size and equipped with a piezoelectric sensor for “provide scientific proof of what you are aiming for”. Designed by a team of 370 engineers worldwide, the Dyson V15 Detect is equipped with the Dyson Hyperdymium motor, which generates up to 240 watts of aspiration, in addition to a five-layer filtration system that captures 99.99% of the particles dust down to 0.3 microns.

These devices help create a more hygienic environment at a time when 60% of people clean their homes more frequently according to company data.

Dust laser detection

Dyson has engineered dust detection laser technology that identifies particles that are not normally visible to the eye with an angular precision laser built into the brush. Dyson engineers have integrated a green diode laser into the Slim Fluffy brush by positioning it at a precise 1.5 degree angle at 7.3mm from the ground. The color was chosen for its ability to create greater contrast, revealing hidden dust on the ground surface, which is normally invisible to the human eye, for easier identification and removal.

Piezoelectric sensor

How does this technology work? Inside the vacuum cleaner there is implemented a piezoelectric sensor. The carbon fiber filaments in the brush collect microscopic particles that are measured and counted up to 15,000 times per second. The dust enters the vacuum cleaner and hits the piezoelectric sensor as it enters the container and the slight vibrations are converted into electrical signals. The size and amount of dust are displayed on the screen, so the user can know how much dust the vacuum cleaner has removed and the sizes of the different particles.

Vacuum cleaners are designed to increase suction power automatically when faced with a greater amount of dust. This occurs when the piezoelectric sensor identifies high concentrations of dust, but if the dust level normalizes, the suction power returns to its previous level.

Anti-tangle and Filtration Technology

New mini motorized anti-tangle brush– Dyson engineers have also worked to solve the problem of tangled hair on the vacuum brush. It is a common challenge in many vacuum cleaners, despite what you think otherwise; so “We have developed a new anti-tangle conical brush that directs the sucked hairs directly into the container, through a spiral movement, thus preventing them from getting tangled in the head“.

Designed for human and pet hair, Dyson engineers have carefully developed the precise angle of the device’s bristles, to ensure that lby detachment force it does not entangle the hairs. The brush has been tested on different types of hair. The High Torque brush has also been renewed, applying anti-tangle technology. Now the brush consists of 56 polycarbonate tines, similar to a comb. These tines prevent hairs from tangling around the bristles during cleaning and remove hairs from the head automatically, so the user does not have to do it.

The Dyson V15 Detect is equipped with advanced filtration technology 5-layer Dyson and capture “99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns to expel clean air.” Dyson cyclonic technology effectively separates dust and dirt from floors and other surfaces, and the complete sealing of the device ensures that these are not blown back into the air.

New Dyson Range

In addition to the new V15 Detect, which will be available from July 14, Dyson has introduced two other formats, one smaller and one larger, that adapt to each family unit, lifestyle and type of home. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim (small format) which will be available from September 12 and the Dyson Outsize (large format) available from August 2.

Both models can be purchased at Dyson.es and at the Dyson Demo store in the La Maquinista shopping center, in Barcelona. What we do not know yet the price of each model.
