A chain of information that leads to the same path: Alan Wake Remastered

Alan Wake has been in the news for the past two years for different reasons. First of all, by the confirmation that in July 2019 Remedy Entertainment had recovered the publishing rights of Alan Wake; that belonged to Microsoft. That translated into its return to the Microsoft Store in January 2020 and its availability again in the said digital store.

In July 2019, Remedy itself stated that Alan Wake could reach new platforms because it was no longer subject to exclusivity agreements. They didn’t announce anything then. Within a few days, it arrived on the Epic Games Store for free for a limited time.

Already in May of last year, in the midst of a pandemic, Remedy celebrated the tenth anniversary of Alan Wake, but they did not announce anything. Only a few weeks later the title arrived on Xbox Game Pass, the Xbox subscription service.

The last indication of his return, apart from the refloat of the original work, was when last June his name appeared in a remastered form along with that of Final Fantasy VII Remake in the tracker from the Epic Games store database.
