Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has decided to put his luxurious Michigan home on the market following privacy concerns raised by fans learning about its location.
Purchased by Campbell in 2021, the Cape Cod-style mansion is currently listed for $4.5 million and has already received pending offers, according to a recent interview he gave to Crain’s Detroit Business.
“There’s plenty of space, it’s on 2 acres, the home is beautiful,” Campbell mentioned in the interview. “It’s just that people figured out where we lived when we lost.”
Before Campbell, the house was owned by Igor Larionov, a former center for the Detroit Red Wings and a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee from 2009. Recent reports indicate that the Campbell family has had to involve law enforcement due to harassment incidents stemming from their high-profile status.
The Bloomfield Township Police Department released a statement affirming their commitment to the safety of local residents. “Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We hope that everyone, including fans, will respect the privacy of individuals and their families,” the department stated.
In light of these issues, the Campbell family has already relocated to a new home, seeking a more private environment.
Dan Campbell, at the age of 48, took on the coaching role with the Lions in 2021. Over his first three seasons with the team, he has achieved a record of 24 wins, 26 losses, and 1 tie, with a notable 12-5 season in the 2023-24 campaign. Under his leadership, the Lions broke a frustrating 32-year playoff win drought in January, proceeding to the NFC Championship game.
In recognition of his efforts, the Lions extended his contract in March, securing his position with the team through the 2027 season.
The Lions currently hold a 1-1 record this season and are set to compete against the Arizona Cardinals, also at 1-1, at 4:25 p.m. EDT this Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.
