California Residents Urged to Be Cautious of Bee Attacks

California residents are being warned to stay alert as a bee attack was caught on video. On Monday afternoon, a man and a volunteer officer with the Los Angeles Police Department were hospitalized after being attacked by a swarm of bees in Encino, California.

Firefighters were the first to respond to the incident in the 17100 block west of Adlon Road at around 3 p.m. after receiving reports of multiple bee stings from a man who claimed to have been attacked by a swarm of bees. The bees then attacked a volunteer officer with the Los Angeles Police Department who had to be hospitalized for suffering several bee stings.

Fortunately, both victims are in stable condition, according to the department.

Bee Remover Called to Scene of the Attack

A bee remover, Izak Kharrazi, arrived on the scene and discovered a honeycomb that was apparently inside a hole in the wall of a house near where he lives. “I do have a license to kill or save them, whatever. And this, because it is an emergency situation, they have to be sprayed and killed,” he told reporters who attended the scene of the attack.

Los Angeles Police Department Volunteers Praised

“We thank you for volunteering to protect and serve. All of our Los Angeles Police Department volunteers are invaluable,” a department spokesman said in recognition of the volunteer officer who was hospitalized in the attack.

Take Precautions Against Bee Stings

This incident serves as a reminder that bee attacks can happen at any time and it is important to take precautions against them. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

– If you see bees flying around, stay calm and move away slowly
– Do not swat at the bees as this will only cause them to become more aggressive
– Cover your head and face if you are being attacked
– If you are allergic to bee stings, carry an EpiPen with you at all times
– Call a professional bee removal service if you discover a hive on your property. Do not try to remove it yourself.

By staying alert and taking these precautions, you can help protect yourself and others against bee attacks.
