The Love Life Of Tina Turner

The late Anna Mae Bullock, popularly known as Tina Turner, lived more than five decades of career and 83 years of life with full of experiences, from success, recognition, and international fame to labor exploitation and even a suicide attempt. In the midst of all these, there was one particular love that she could not materialize publicly despite being known for being open and honest about her life.

Tina Turner took the first steps of her career in 1959 when being a woman, especially an Afro-descendant woman, was not an advantage. But with sheer talent and determination, she managed to make a place for herself in the predominantly male-dominated industry. Apart from her numerous hit songs, she was also an established actress, composer, dancer, and choreographer.

During her long years in the entertainment industry, Tina Turner rubbed shoulders with other greats of the scene, including Mick Jagger. They worked and performed together, sharing stages that were filled with chemistry hinting something more than friendship. However, both repeatedly emphasized that they were friends, and they even considered each other family.

But at the beginning of 2023, Tina Turner finally made a revelation that shook her fans. During an intimate chat with the British media, The Guardian, she confessed that she was always in love with the charismatic leader of The Rolling Stones. She said, “I was always in love with Mick Jagger. I loved it when we went on tour with the Rolling Stones.”

Despite this revelation, Tina did not specify the reason for her love for Mick, and Jagger himself remained silent on the matter. However, Tina always maintained that both he and David Bowie were like her brothers. Her statement denied the rumors of any romantic involvement in the past, and she believed that the two musicians regarded her as a role model.

Mick Jagger expressed his condolences through his Instagram profile, where he mentioned how she was an inspiration to him and how she helped him when he was young.

Tina Turner left a remarkable legacy in music and entertainment. Her life was full of experiences, both good and bad, but she never stopped inspiring others. Her openness and honesty about her personal life allowed her fans to connect with her on a deeper level, and her music continues to inspire generations even after her death.
