Lucid Games, a studio based in Liverpool, England, is working on a AAA video game belonging to a large intellectual property exclusively for PlayStation 5. The team responsible for Destruction AllStars, released on the new Sony console earlier this year, has in hand an unannounced AAA project; but it is not a new IP, but a new installment of an existing saga.

The Twitter user Timur222 has identified in the LinkedIn profile of Drew Williams-Rostron, Technical Game Designer of Lucid Games between August 2020 and October 2021, information that we did not know until now. Because after Destruction AllStars -which is a new IP-, it remained to be seen what the British team would embark on and if it would do it again with PlayStation.

Sources point to Twisted Metal reboot

In the absence of knowing what IP they are working on, it will presumably be a higher budget title. Journalistic sources advanced by VGC They point out that we could be facing the resurgence of Twisted Metal, a rumor that has been around for a long time. Especially when it is confirmed that PlayStation works on a live action series based on the saga that already has a protagonist.

The last installment of the Twisted Metal saga dates back to 2012 on PlayStation 3. According to the source, this new title would be launched in 2023, coinciding with the premiere of the television series, and would be released under a business model free-to-play. Sony has neither confirmed nor denied this information. Exactly what they are working on will be revealed shortly.
