An Unforgettable Experience
Lyn May has shared some difficult experiences that she faced since childhood, but she never revealed she was a victim of sexual abuse at the age of 14. This experience left a deep impact on her, and she has vowed to never forgive the man who raped her. During an interview with the American TV Show ‘Sit Whoever Can’, Lyn May recounted the traumatic event. The perpetrator told her that he would show her Mexico, and once he had taken her around the city, he raped her. She did not report the incident because she was too young.
A Traumatic Childhood
Apart from the sexual abuse, Lyn May had to endure physical abuse from her father when she was a young girl. She also had to sell sweets on the streets of Acapulco to earn money for her family when she was just five years old. The hardships of her life drove her to seek refuge with her grandmother.
Overcoming Domestic Violence
Lyn May’s struggles continued when she became a victim of domestic violence by her first husband, who was two decades older than her. She decided to leave her abuser and take her daughters with her. Despite all the difficulties, Lyn May emerged victorious and became a star, inspiring many with her resilience and strength.
