Mama June Shannon ‘loses custody’ of her daughter ‘Honey Boo Boo’

American TV star Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson has been in the midst of a heated legal battle between her mother, Mama June Shannon, and her older sister, Lauryn Efird in recent months.

Now, a Georgia judge has granted Lauryn, who also calls himself ‘Pumpkin’, sole custody of ‘Honey Boo Boo’, which also includes his visitation rights.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Mama June will be able to contact her 16-year-old daughter by phone every day and will have to pay ‘Pumpkin’ $1,100 a month in support until the star turns 18.

Testimony from the hearing, which ended in April, revealed that the reality star had already been living with her older sister Lauryn and her husband, Josh Efird since 2019 after Mama June first lost custody of the little girl upon being arrested on drug charges.

The former theater star’s life took a 180-degree turn when she had to sell her home to get money and was forced to live in her car before finally making the decision to enter a rehabilitation center in an attempt to seek help to turn her life around.

The news comes after Mama June secretly married in a Georgia courthouse last March, her boyfriend Justin Stroud, after only a few months of a relationship.
