Carmen Barbieri, the well-known television host, recently shared her struggles with a medical condition. She revealed on her show, Mañanísima, that she is dealing with a delicate state of health due to herpes zoster, which began on her neck and requires intensive medical treatment.
According to Carmen, herpes zoster is “a painful rash that can manifest as a set of blisters on the trunk of the body.” She went on to explain that it had spread, causing “great consequences” for her eye. Despite taking five pills a day and using a cream, she still experiences pain and discomfort.
Carmen’s co-hosts asked her about the symptoms, and she explained that it feels like a sting followed by burning sensations. She stressed the importance of seeking professional care promptly to avoid serious consequences.
Unfortunately, Carmen’s battle with herpes zoster is not new. Last year, the disease affected her eye, causing significant anxiety and pain. As Carmen puts it, “the virus is gone, but wherever it went, it ruined me.”
Carmen’s experience serves as a reminder to prioritize our health and seek medical attention when necessary. By taking steps to manage our health conditions, we can prevent them from worsening and enjoy a better quality of life.
