And not only that, in addition to proposing a reboot, Mandy Moore has even thought about who could give life to the character she played: Olivia Rodrigo!
In an interview with People, Moore said she would “love a reboot” and added that she imagined Olivia Rodrigo as Jamie, the protagonist. “I would love to see it. It’s been enough time that, yes, I feel like we’ve earned our place in film history for a reboot at this point.”
The actress went on to say that the reboot could also function as a celebration that the classic is about to turn 20 years since its premiere in 2002.
As if that wasn’t enough, Moore revealed that during filming, she and her co-star Shane West, who played her love interest, Ladon Carter, fell in love. “Somehow, we had this really natural, effortless chemistry between us. And I think that shows up in the movie and it’s hard to understand. You can’t really fake that,”he noted.
