Manifest Season 4: Release Date Updates

It’s not just the voices in your head. The fourth season of Manifest is really coming, and it’s been filming since November 2021. All of this happened after Manifest fans (including Stephen King) went crazy following NBC’s cancellation, and the series is now entitled to Lucifer’s treatment with a resurrection. Thankfully, the series will be ordered in 20 episodes, which is obviously not the six-season series that creator Jeff Rake had hoped for, but it is, hopefully, enough to reveal what really happened with Flight 528.

When it comes to the release date, viewers are wondering, and so is King. The horror maestro recently tweeted to Rake with three questions: “1. When is he coming back? 2. How many times will a character say ‘Trust me? 2-A. How many times will a character say, ‘It’s complicated?'”

All the very relevant questions and Rake duly answered the call: “Re: #1, I hear November. Re: #2 and #3, if you offer a drinking game, I’m up for it.”

From there, one wonders if all 20 episodes will air (November seems too fast for that path) or if Netflix will choose a recently popular path, namely a split season. According to a new update from TV Line, this is the solution:

Planned in several parts (the quantity and frequency of which are to be determined!), the farewell flight of the supernatural drama is about to take off “at the end of the year”.

As for the broadcast date of the series finale, nothing is certain. But it would be something to think of that in terms of the “date of death” of the series, which is a huge concept in the series. And it seems well if Rake and Netflix decide to play this card (and it’s just a morbidly cute theory), that (as Reddit noted) it would happen on June 2, 2024, to match the “death date” of the passengers of Flight 528 in the series. It would be quite an expectation, but fans could still enjoy it. Event television at its best.
