Marvel superheroes will return to video games thanks to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a title published by Square Enix that is about to come out of the oven. Eidos Montreal, the creators of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, bet on a linear action game for one player and with great narrative load. With just over a month to go, the studio has announced that its new work has already reached the gold phase, which means that development is complete.
Unlike Marvel’s Avengers, the new Square Enix production leave out the multiplayer elements to focus on the campaign. Therefore, since their announcement they confirmed their firm intention not to introduce microtransactions or any kind of DLC. The developers want to ensure that the experience is complete from day one, so that all cosmetic items and skins can be found in-game.
Less than a year together
The story of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is its own and takes place twelve years after the Galactic War devastated the universe. Star-Lord has reunited the Guardians, who have been together for less than a year, so they are still getting to know each other. All of them take advantage of the serious situation to fill your pockets a little while they carry out missions of all kinds and protect the galaxy from the villains. The game will implement decisions that will change various aspects of the plot, although there will only be one ending.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will ship next October 26th on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Nintendo Switch players will also be able to handle Peter Quill (Star-Lord) in his intergalactic adventures, although in this case it is a cloud version, so it will not be able to be played natively in the hybrid.
