RUMOR: Josh Gad to Join MCU as Protagonist of Wonder Man Series
Marvel fans are buzzing with excitement as rumors circulate that actor Josh Gad will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and taking on the role of the protagonist in the upcoming Wonder Man series. While much of the attention around the MCU is focused on the upcoming release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the controversy surrounding Jonathan Majors’ portrayal of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel continues to move forward with other productions, including Wonder Man.
The rumors stem from a report by The Direct, which claims that insider Jeff Sneider revealed on his Hot Mic podcast that Gad has been cast in the series, which reportedly began filming in early April. Although Marvel has not confirmed the news, fans are eagerly speculating about what role Gad will play in the adaptation.
Wonder Man is based on the story of Simon Williams, a high-profile actor with a wide variety of superpowers, including flight, superhuman strength, and ionic force control. Originally introduced as a supervillain fighting the Avengers, he was later reinvented as a hero. In the Disney Plus adaptation, the role will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
The cast also includes Ed Harris as Simon Williams’ agent, Demetrius Grosse as his brother Eric Williams, and Ben Kingsley as a returning actor in the MCU. While the series is expected to be a satire of Hollywood and its celebrity culture, Marvel’s approach to the adaptation is not yet clear.
As the production moves forward, fans are eager for more details about the story and Gad’s role in the MCU. While Marvel has not confirmed the rumors, fans are hopeful that they will soon get to see Gad bring his unique talents to the superhero universe.
