On the eve of the launch of GTA The Trilogy, a remastering of GTA III, Vice City y San AndreasWe can’t find a better time to remember the importance of those games originally released on PS2 and later in other formats such as PC or Xbox. It also coincides with the 20th anniversary of GTA 3, the game that turned the three-dimensional open world into a vehicle of immense success that many were launched to imitate, with more or less success.
Games that marked an era
In this podcast we focus on these three specific games, explaining above the two-dimensional origins of the saga and getting lost in the streets of Liberty City, Vice City and the State of San Andreas, accompanying its protagonists in their misadventures to survive and prosper in the world of organized crime. We will talk about the different settings, the evolution in terms of the structure of each game, the elements that made those games stand out, the ability that Rockstar had (and has) to capture the spirit of a city or an era thanks to its legendary attention to detail.
And of course we will talk about GTA music, one of the pillars on which that setting is built and that ability to transport us to the chosen environment. Of course, we will also review the problems they had, both at the level of the game (that aim of weapons …) and the different controversies that they starred in and that jumped into the generalist newspapers and newscasts of that time.
With a great expert in the saga such as JoaquÃn Relaño doing this time as master of ceremonies, the rest of the usual team of the Meripodcast Retro formed by Juan Arenas, Sergi “Motenai”, Carlos Forcada and Francisco Alberto Serrano will also share their experiences, memories and impressions on titles that undoubtedly marked an era.
