No matter what your profession is or how far you have achieved your goals, some dramatic turns of life can shake your world from its base. But well, problems come into everyone’s life. No person is free from the past. Yes, the impact of the problem may vary, but no man is free from his deeds and effects. 

Something like this happened with the great Canadian actor Michael J. Fox. he was at the peak of his career one day, and the next day he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Who Is Michael J. Fox.?

Michael was born on June 9, 1961. His real name is Michael Andrew fox. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to Phyllis and William fox. From a very young age, he started acting. His first debut in the entertainment industry was at 15 years old only. His mother was a payroll clerk, and his father was a sergeant in the Canadian army signal corps. He has four siblings named kelki, Karen, Jacki, and steven. His family moved to Vancouver after his father retired. It was that time of the year when he realized his passion for acting and said he desired to join the entertainment industry.

Leo and I were one of the most popular series back in 1978. Michael auditioned for the series when he was just 15 years old. He worked in some television series for short roles. Later he finally secures a good place in the series of family ties. At that time, he was just 21 years old. When he was shooting for the family tires, his father passed away. He was close to his father, and the incident greatly disturbed him. He starts experiencing depressive symptoms. His health started deteriorating, and at a certain point, he could not perform his daily activities effectively. He went for the pepper check, and then he first got diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He was diagnosed when he was just 29 years old, in 1991. But the media got to know about his illness in 1998.

He finished his education and received a degree in general educational development in 1995. Fox was invited to the show to do the daily tasks when Jon Stewart was still the host. He continues to work in famous series and performs a great role in the spin city show. He won a primetime Emmy award for acting brilliantly in the same series. The series made it to the Canada wall of fame in Toronto, Ontario, in 2008. 

Fox’s Career

Fox careers have seen great heights in the entertainment industry. He has always been fascinated by his acting career and has never failed to give the best to the plate for the audience. Watching him has always been a treat to the eyes of the audience. He has made himself really popular in comic roles. He is known best for his comedies, and people admire his screen presence the most in his last show.

Fox’s Personal Life

Fox met his wife, Emily, when he was shooting for family ties. They bond very well, and later they only started dating during the shoot. In 1998 they both took their relationship forward, and they married on July 16 at West Mountain Inn in Arlington, Vermont. The couple has four children. The eldest is a son after twin daughters and then again the one daughter. 

Fox holds two citizenship in Canada and the U.S. Presently, fox and his family live primarily in manhattan. The family also owns a second home in New york. 

Fox’s Parkinson’s Disease

Fox showed his early Parkinson’s symptoms in 1991. Back then, he was shooting for the movie Doc Hollywood. However, his initial symptoms were just minutes, like twitching fingers and other muscles. But soon, he was told that he could also not perform his daily functions. The cause of Parkinson’s disease is still unknown because it is a rare genetic case. After the diagnosis, he was depressed, and the loss of his father made his condition worse. 

He was more into drinking and started having lots of lonely thoughts. Eventually, he seeks help when he thinks the condition is out of his hands. He stops drinking and looks for real solutions to the problems. In 1998 he went public and spoke openly about his Parkinson’s disease. He thinks that people are still not aware of the real struggle of the disease. He decided to take a step forward and let the world know more about Parkinson’s. 

He set up a Michael j fox foundation to create advanced help for Parkinson’s disease. He set up the research labs and gave the best environment for finding the hidden challenges of the disease. His lab found the effect of levodopa in managing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. He has spent more than 100 million dollars on his lab and foundation. The research has helped millions of people in the world who are fighting against the disease.

He has penned down all his experience fighting against the disease and opening the foundation for Parkinson’s. The name of the book is a lucky man. He also promoted his book on various television platforms and talk shows. He said he had ignored his disease in his seven years of hiding. He was battling many negative thoughts but later shut them off and made the public appearance again.

In 2022 he was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award by the government for his great efforts in fighting Parkinson’s disease. He is such an inspirational man to all the world, and his steps have taken the world one step forward in medical science.
