Microsoft OneNote: There can only be one

Instead of two OneNote applications, there will only be one in the future: Microsoft will combine OneNote from Office and OneNote for Windows 10. The latter application will finally take its hat in 2025 – together with the end of support for the operating system.

But even before that, Microsoft wants to point out the change in the app. The developers are currently working on a migration path for users. Its appearance is planned for the second half of 2022. Until it is completed, Microsoft explicitly advises against making the switch.

In addition, OneNote from Office should at least receive the most popular functions from the Windows 10 app, which the former have been missing so far. Microsoft does not provide details on this, but it is certain that not all features will be adopted. However, a list should appear in good time.

In addition, Microsoft has announced the new design for Office, which was announced at the end of June, also for OneNote – the announcement shows a first draft. In addition, the developers want to make the surface more flexible in general and expand the stylus functions.
