Ja Morant impressed with a career-high 46 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies barely preserved the lead to beat DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls 116-110 on Saturday.

The Grizzlies held out after allowing a 17-point lead to be reduced to just one. They escaped with victory after losing two matches in a row.

They also snapped Chicago’s six-game winning streak.

Morant surpassed his previous mark of 44 points. He scored 20 in the third period and hit 15 of 28 shots.

Steven Adams added 12 points and set a season-high 21 rebounds in a duel in which the Grizzlies frustrated DeRozan, even though the Bulls star scored 31 points.

DeRozan, a five-time All-Star, has reached thirty points 10 times in a row. It’s the best such streak by a Bulls player since Michael Jordan also got it in 10, from Dec. 25, 1990 to Jan. 14, 1991.
