Netflix has made official the creation of Netflix Games, the materialization of a space of its own to concentrate your video game offer on the popular service, which has more than 213 million subscribers worldwide. After the incorporation in tests of their first games in the catalog – at no additional cost to membership – and the purchase of the studio behind works like Oxenfree, it is now official what they call their “first step” in the gaming for mobile devices with a total of five titles.
Netflix Games Debuts Five Mobile Video Games
Netflix Games is not a new app, but one more section within the existing Netflix app. At launch, it is only available for Android from this Wednesday, October 3; but soon it will also do it on iOS terminals. The games do not have advertising or microtransactions – the same policy as Apple Arcade in the case of the Cupertino games. These are the games included in the platform at its premiere:
- Stranger Things: 1984
- Stranger Things 3: The Game
- Shooting Hoops
- Card Blast
- Teeter (Up)
“Whether you’re in the mood for a casual game that you can start from scratch or for an immersive experience that allows you to immerse yourself in your favorite stories, we want to start building a game catalog with something for everyone,” says Mike Verdu, Vice President of Game Development at Netflix.
What you need to access Netflix Games: requirements and conditions
All we need to play these titles is a NEtflix membership: there are no additional charges, no purchases in-app, no additional charges.
It should be said that the games are only available on adult profiles; they cannot be run from child profiles. Also, some of them will not need an internet connection to play. “If you are on your Android mobile phone, you will see an exclusive row of games and a tab where you can select any game to download. If you are on your Android tablet, you will see an exclusive row of games or you can download them from the drop-down menu by categories and start playing ”, they advance in the statement.
It is possible to play on multiple devices and most will have different languages. More titles will soon be coming to this new segment of Netflix’s entertainment offer, which is gradually breaking into the electronic entertainment sector. How far they will go is something we do not know yet.
