Here’s everything coming to Netflix in June 2022

Welcome back for another look at what’s coming to Netflix in June 2022. This list contains all of the new licenced and Netflix Original material available on Netflix in the United States throughout the middle of the year.

For those who are not aware, we get a first peek at licenced movies and series before anybody else, but we won’t get a comprehensive picture of what’s coming until the end of May 2022. We anticipate having the whole June list between May 17th and 19th or between May 24th and 26th. We’ll keep this site updated with other additions when we hear of them in the days running up to June.

That’s My Time with David Letterman

David Letterman has been rebuilding his talk show presence over at Netflix years after bidding goodbye to his career on The Late Show. My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, a six-episode programme focusing on budding standup comedians, will be joining his long-form interview series. Each episode will feature a rising comedian doing a five-minute act before conversing with Letterman, which sounds eerily similar to the second part of a Late Show episode.

God’s Favorite Idiot

Melissa McCarthy and Bel Falcone star in this new supernatural comedy, which promises to have a great sense of humour. After films like The Boss, Thunder Force, and Superintelligence, the power couple is ready to feature together again.

The story follows Clark Thompson, who is selected by God and assembles a group of misfits, including his long-time crush Emily and several of his coworkers. The gang works together to keep humanity safe from Satan’s grasp. The teaser, released on June 15, 2022, promises spectacular action scenes and visual effects, giving us optimism that the programme will be more than simply a comedy. It will also be action-packed.

Yanic Truesdale, McCarthy’s Gilmore Girls co-star, joins Leslie Bibb, Kevin Dunn, Usman Ally, Steve Mallory, Chris Sandiford, and Ana Scotney in the cast.

Hustle

Adam Sandler’s newest Netflix original film, Hustle, marks his comeback to the streaming service. Sandler plays Stanley Sugarman, a basketball scout who helps a fresh recruit get into the NBA. Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, and Robert Duvall all feature in Hustle. The sports drama is bound to inspire when it premieres on Netflix on June 8.

Spriggan

For all anime fans out there, the wait for Spriggan has been excruciating. Spriggan is a forthcoming Netflix Original Japanese science fiction series and manga adaptation by Hiroshi Takashige and Ryoji Minagawa. On June 18, 2022, the anime adaptation will be released on the platform.

The manga was initially published in February 1989 in Weekly Shonen Sunday and lasted for 11 volumes. There have been previous adaptations of the manga, the most recent of which was directed by Hiroshi Kobayashi and produced by David Production.

The story centres on an ancient society that once governed the universe but ultimately perished. They leave hidden messages for future generations to discover and utilise the strong creatures they create to defeat their foes. ARCAM Corporation and its army of warriors known as Spriggans hinder various factions from hunting for these relics.

Chiaki Kobayashi, Youhei Azakami, Kenji Hamada, and Ayumu Murase will provide the voices for the main characters. This series will be a godsend for anime fans everywhere.

Man vs Bee

Man vs Bee, a Netflix original, star Rowan Atkinson as a comedic character. Atkinson, most known for his roles in Mr Bean and Johnny English, wears the writer’s hat with his Johnny English co-star William Davies. Previously, the two collaborated on the Johnny English trilogy.

The series will follow Atkinson as he engages in a struggle with a bee. Like the concierge of a large estate, Atkinson finds himself at odds with a particularly troublesome bug. It will be surprised to discover who emerges triumphant when the war is complete. Man vs Bee will be released in the summer of 2022, on June 24. The programme is expected to include ten episodes, each lasting ten minutes.

Jing Lusi, who played Nina in Crazy Rich Asians, will join the cast as the owner of the opulent mansion residence occupied by Atkinson. Julian Rhind-Tutt, Greg McHugh, India Fowler, Claudie Blakley, and Daniel Fearn also feature in the series.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor

The rejection of Morgan Neville’s film from the best documentary category was one of the most surprising moments of 2018. Despite critical acclaim and a $22 million box office gross, the Academy rejected the story of Fred Rogers and his legendary neighbourhood. However, the film’s tear-jerking charms persist, providing an optimistic story amid a documentary world dominated by scammers and true-crime stories. Please take this as a clue that you should add it to your Netflix queue.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3

Our favourite superheroes will face off against members of the Sparrow Academy in the third season of the offbeat superhero series. Elliot Page, who came out as transgender in December 2020, will be reintroduced as Viktor Hargreeves on the programme. Newcomers Cazzie David and Euphoria’s Javon “Wanna” Walton join original cast members Tom Hopper, David Castaeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min.

June will undoubtedly be an exciting month for all of us with these major releases. Get your popcorn ready and start watching Netflix.
