Nintendo Switch OLED: first unboxing, gameplay and comparison

The first real images of the Nintendo Switch OLED began to come to the fore just a few days ago. Some lucky ones already they have been able to try it in advance, among which is the Japanese youtuber Hikakin TV. Satoru Iwata, the late president of Nintendo, made it fashionable to put on white gloves before removing the console from the box. Now, Hikakin does the same with the new Kyoto system.

In the video, the youtuber shows the console and the various accessories that come in the package. In addition to the machine, the pack includes the dock (this time with cable Internet input), the charger, the joy-con and the hooks for the controls. During the clip, we can see Hikakin comparing the Nintendo Switch OLED with other consoles, as well as gameplay straight out of the new model.

What features does the Nintendo Switch OLED have?

The machine incorporates a 7 inch OLED screen (the original was 6.2), which offers more vivid colors. In addition, the sound has improved compared to the first model. Those who were afraid to position the console on the surface are in luck, because the flimsy legs that the original model had have been replaced by a much firmer support. The internal memory, meanwhile, is also expanded, from 32 GB to 64 GB.

Nintendo Switch OLED uses the same hardware as the 2017 model, which means that it does not introduce performance improvements of any kind, despite leaks that pointed towards a more powerful model, known colloquially as Nintendo Switch Pro. Nintendo has not officially confirmed that it is working on this type of hardware.

The console will be available in stores from October 8th, at a recommended price of 349 euros. The original model has dropped in price in Europe and can be found for 299 euros.
