Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have suffered this Monday, October 4, the largest global fall in their history. The North American giant reported at around 6:00 p.m. – Spanish peninsular time – of an access problem that affected all the company’s services and applications; included Oculus, Facebook’s virtual reality department that devices like Oculus VR depend on.
After midnight, Mark Zuckerberg’s company reported through the social network Twitter about the restoration of its services six hours later. “Thank you for supporting us,” says Anty Stone, Facebook’s official communication manager. The official Oculus Twitter account celebrated the return to normality of its services at 00:59, already entered on Tuesday. “We are back online. Thank you for supporting us ”, they reply.
For its part, Facebook led a more extensive response minutes before to let its community know about this long-awaited solution, which has left the four applications mentioned without connection for hours: “To the huge community of people and companies around the world that depend on us: we’re sorry. We have worked hard to restore access to our applications and services and we are pleased to inform you that they are back online.. Thanks for your patience”.
