Outer Banks was officially renewed for a third season by Netflix in December 2021. Showrunners and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke will return as showrunners and executive producers for the famous American adolescent mystery thriller. Fans are already speculating whether the show will be released in May 2022.
Season 1 of Outer Banks began during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic (April 2020), and the program provided viewers with several on-screen escapes. Season 2 premiered on July 30, 2021, and for the first four weeks following its broadcast, the program was ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s worldwide “top 10 TV series in English” list.

Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, and Rudy Pankow feature a gang of local teenagers known as the “Pogues.” While navigating their bitter competition with the rich Kooks, they are on a journey to uncover treasure worth $400 million in gold. In Season 2, John B. (Stokes) and Sarah (Cline) were on the run in the Bahamas, with both friends and opponents looking for wealth.
Release Updates
The actors and crew are hard at work shooting the third season, which will be a hit. Season 3’s principal photography began on February 14, meaning they’ve been filming for over two months. According to What’s on Netflix, production will end on August 19.
We may probably see Outer Banks season 3 before the end of the year if the anticipated wrap date holds and the program spends roughly three to four months in post-production. We’re looking at a release date in November or December.
Only if there are no manufacturing delays will we be able to determine the release date. We don’t expect any delays, so delivery in late 2022 appears likely. However, it is possible that the Outer Banks will not reappear until 2023. However, we doubt Netflix will release Outer Banks season 3 until early 2023. For the time being, the third season will be available on Netflix in November or December.

In The World of The “Outer Banks,” No One Is Secure
There are a lot of folks who would want to get their hands on all of those gold bars. While no formal cast announcements have been announced yet, we expect the key characters who survived last season to return. John B (Stokes), Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), Kiara (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow), and Pope are among the cast members (Jonathan Daviss).

In Season 2, there were also a few newbies, such as Cleo (Carlacia Grant). Grant is optimistic that if the program is renewed for further episodes, she will return to reprise her part. In an interview with Elle, she said, “I’m pretty curious about how this whole Cleo and Pope thing plays out if it does. I’d also want to learn more about Cleo’s past. I’d want to see more of her and learn more about her background.
Outer Banks Series 3 Plot
After things almost got very sticky after season one, John B and Sarah were on the run in the Bahamas in season two of Outer Banks. The Pogues and The Kooks were still competing for the $400 million, and the season came to a close with the news that John B’s long-lost father had been located alive.
According to show creators Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, who spoke to Entertainment Weekly, this revelation will affect the third season:
“John B’s connection with his father is a major issue. When his father reappears, they’ll finally meet again, and John B will have to reconcile his idealized vision of his deceased father with the reality of his living father.”
“They’re not going to give up on the gold, however,” they added. “About the ongoing treasure search, they said.
The series makers have said that the new episode two would have lots of romance, indicating that they may be exploring some long-awaited ties.
“We didn’t want to do it right away, but we want to do it since it caught us off guard, like the audience’s response to JJ and Kiara and their want to see them together.” So we were instantly receptive to it since it seemed like a fascinating topic to investigate, but we put it off till season three,” they said.
“We didn’t want to discard Pope and Kiara immediately since we had set up the whole situation and wanted to see how it played out.”

We’re currently in the early stages of season three discovery, so we don’t know whether shooting for the new episodes has started.
