Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Pearl Jam has yet to tour with their latest album ‘Gigaton’; however, they are already thinking about who they want to work with on their successor, and it involves none other than the pop star’s co-writer, Justin Bieber.

In a recent interview with NME, Eddie Vedder revealed that the band hopes to get into the studio with Andrew Watt, the influential producer who directed Vedder’supcoming solo album, ‘Earthling’. His credentials in music are varied, from Ozzy Osbourne to Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. In 2021, he took home a Grammy in the Best Non-Classical Producer category.

“We’ll make a record with Andrew, I think. We’ve already talked about it,” Vedder said in the interview.

“You know, the pandemic came right when we were going on tour with the record ‘Gigaton.’ We had a lot of shows planned. Two-thirds of those concerts were even put on sale. So one thing we’ll do in 2022 is deliver on the promises of playing those shows.”

Although rescheduled dates have not yet been announced, Pearl Jam assured its fans that they plan to hit the road this May.

The frontman went on to explain that Pearl Jam plans to record music with Watt between tour commitments “because we now have a strong and healthy ambition to do so.”

As for Andrew Watt, working with Vedder has been a dream come true. The producer praised the band during a recent interview with Billboard.

“I was born in 1990 and my brother was born in ’85, so all we heard growing up was Pearl Jam and the Chili Peppers,”he explained.

“If I admitted how many Pearl Jam gigs I’ve gone to, it probably wouldn’t be good for anything. But I used to go to Pearl Jam concerts with a sign that said, ‘Let me play the guitar solo from ‘Alive,’ and I found myself on stage at the Ohana Festival playing the guitar solo from ‘Alive’ with Pearl Jam.””

“So [[working with Vedder] was a real full circle, an amazing moment that I feel like I’ve been prepared for all my life. It’s not supposed to happen like this: you’re not supposed to have posters on your wall and be in the position to create with those people.”

In addition to working together in the studio, Watt will also be part of Vedder’s backing band during their intimate ‘Earthling’tour, which kicks off next month.
